Surf n’ Suds Laundry was started by Marshallton resident Scot Sauer over a decade ago. With a background in HVAC and maintenance, he opened the first Surf n’ Suds location in Newark, DE to serve the university students and Newark residents. This original location was across from the Pat’s Pizzeria on what used to be called Elkton Road. Since then, the business has moved just down the street to the Park & Shop Shopping Center on South Main Street where it sits today next to longtime Newark favorite, DP Dough.
The Bear, DE location at Fox Run Shopping Center was opened with the intention of providing an exceptional 24-hour laundry experience to those who lived in the communities in the area. Since first opening its doors, this location has been the go-to laundromat for both Delaware and Maryland residents, something we are immensely proud of.
